....well, at Norwich Film Festival to be precise!
There are many films which are on the list of 'should have seen by now'. I don't really advertise it that much as half of which I don't want to admit to! Being a fan of horror and comedy horror, I should have really seen An American Werewolf in London way before now.
Well, a screening at a pre-Norwich Film Festival event rectified that on Wednesday 30 October, within the dramatic setting of the Norwich Puppet Theatre which added to the atmosphere.
These kind of screenings are fantastic shared experiences and this added to my first viewing of the film even more.
Oh it was worth the wait! When you've taken so long to see such a classic, it's like you already know it but don't know it at the same time. I was particularly keen to finally seen the transformation sequence within it's proper context for example. Bearing in mind this was released in 1981, I'm pretty impressed with.
This is a film which still looks good, is very funny and still has a shock factor. Thank you Norwich Film Festival!
Next up is vampires. The original Nosferatu. I will not be sleeping that night!
